The Stack and Tilt Golf Swing

Some think the Stack & Tilt Swing is a reverse pivot because the weight doesn’t shift to the right on the backswing. But it is normal to shift to the right when you have to be left at impact. Not even the professionals are good enough to do that and get back to the ball on a consistent basis. And many of them are asking us why they were taught that way.  Finally, when video emerged, average golfers had a way of checking – swing back wide, shift to the right, maintain the knee flex, finish level. None of those things work for very long. Now we have a whole generation of golfers working on moves that will only make them worse.

What you have to do above all else is control where the Club Hits The Ground. This way you make solid contact with the ball, and that’s what the Stack & Tilt Swing is all about. Begin with locating your swings low point. For more information how to practice the correct stack and tilt swing, you can watch Golf Swing Videos here.

STACK & TILT BASICS

Your ADDRESS
• Stack your shoulders over your hips (from the face-on view).
• Flare out your feet.
• Set more weight on your front foot, about 55/45.
• Tilt your chin down to the ball.

The BACKSWING
• Turn your shoulders in a circle motion, on a steep downward angle.
• Shift a little more weight to your front foot at the top.
• Tilt your spine toward the target.

The DOWNSWING
• Slide your hips forward, tilting your spine away from the target.
• Keep your head still.
• Stand up to release your hips from their forward address tilt.
• Concentrate on turning your shoulders square at impact.
The FINISH
• Continue to push your hips toward the target, which extends the spine.
• Shift 90 percent of your weight to your front foot.
• Be sure to keep your arms stretched out to the finish.
